Also included in the link is information about AUSD's Safe Haven Resolution, the City's Sanctuary City proclamation, and other resources about the status of immigrant families in our school district and community. Superintendent Search Information

The Board of Education of the Alameda School District is in the process of conducting a Superintendent Search for purposes of hiring the District’s next Superintendent. Eric Andrew and Juan Garza of Leadership Associates, an executive search firm, were selected to advise the Board in this important process. You can find more detail and regular updates about the search process on our Superintendent Search webpage.

Leadership Associates has developed an online survey  to collect input from all stakeholders about the desired characteristics of the next superintendent. Please take the survey here to provide your feedback! Please also note that on Wednesday, March 27, community members are invited to an open forum about the superintendent search at 6:30 pm. The forum will be held at both Otis Elementary School (in English) and Island High School (in multiple languages).

    AUSD Communications Survey

Alameda Unified School District’s annual survey gathers input from families and the community regarding communication. Participating in this survey helps inform the school district of ways to improve our practices regarding home-school communication. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Parking Information

Parents, if you drop off or pick up your child on San Antonio, please do not block the driveways of our neighbors. We’ve had multiple complaints over the years about parents blocking a driveway making it impossible for the residents to get in and out of their driveway. Remember: The best place to park is around the park! Thank you for your cooperation and help in making sure Franklin School is a good neighbor!

For safety reasons, please use the crosswalk to get back and forth from where you have parked. If you are picking up or dropping off your child, consider using our hug-and-go lane. Please refrain from double parking, and remember, the Paru gate is not a drop off area.

AUSD uses Back-to-School Registration every year to confirm that a student will be attending a district school in the upcoming school year. The registration also gives parent/guardians a chance to update emergency contacts, acknowledge annual authorizations, and review the district’s policies. We ask that parent/guardians complete the registration via our InfoSnap online system as soon as possible.

    CAASPP Testing for Grades 3,4 & 5

The CAASPP Testing will be conducted during the month of May. Please have your child well-rested, fed, and ready for optimum performance.  If you don’t receive more information on testing dates, please contact your child’s teacher.

Parents:  The California Education Code Section 60615 states that parents/guardians may annually submit a written request to the principal of their student’s school if they do not wish to have their student take any or all tests.  If a parent or guardian submits an exemption request after testing has begun, any test(s) completed before the request is submitted will be scored and the results reported to the parent or guardian and included in the pupil’s records.  AUSD teachers and schools support students to do well on the tests and help them learn test-taking skills that will enable them to be successful throughout their school career and beyond.  We encourage parents to contact their child’s teacher or principal with any concerns they may have about the test before they request that their student be excluded from taking the test(s).
